George Heckel
Across more than 25 years, nearly all my work has been inside family-owned and privately held businesses, as an owner, an operator, and an advisor.
I began my career in restructuring at Ernst & Young, then at Glass & Associates, where I worked inside distressed businesses across multiple industries. That work taught me how companies fail.
In 2006, I moved from advising to operating. I acquired an ownership stake in a family business, ran it through the financial crisis, and ultimately led a successful sale. Later, as President of PAMPCO, a $141 million distributor of building materials, I led a turnaround that more than doubled revenue and increased operating income over 60 times, culminating in a sale to Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc., a Fortune 500 company.
In between and throughout, I have worked at Allied Building Products and Huron Consulting Group supporting distressed companies, running operations, and directing the acquisition of multiple businesses across the distribution sector.
I understand the business problems these companies face, and the family dynamics underneath them that make everything harder. I have lived it from the inside, and I know how to work both.
I work alongside the bankers, attorneys, and advisors already in the room, complementing what they do, not replacing it. Today, I bring that experience to owners and CEOs working through the same moments.
